Greetings,
The Exeter Rotary is a Club with 34 members which was chartered 49 years ago. We are part of the 1.2 million Rotarians addressing problems related to water, hunger and literacy. We meet each Monday, except holidays, at the Exeter Inn for lunch at 12:15pm.
Our members have big dreams. We have service projects which focus on preventing infant mortality and fostering literacy and health, as part of our community and international service. Our charitable Foundation awards scholarships each year to local students, as part of our vocational mission. Our Club participates in the move to eradicate Polio and is responding to the $100 million Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation challenge grant. When Rotary started its eradication program there were 125 countries with polio; now there are 4 countries left. We work with local hospice, the housing authority, libraries and other service organizations to accomplish humanitarian goals. We raise funds by community talent shows and sales of everything from apple pies to geraniums and poinsettia plants.
Exeter Rotarians strive to MAKE DREAMS REAL. As Albert Schweitzer once stated “The only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.”
We welcome fellow Rotarians, Friends and Family of Rotary and guests to join our weekly fellowship.
With warmest greetings,
Mae Bradshaw, President 2008-2009
